V6 - Squealing Starting

When the car is cold and I start her she makes one god awful squeal sound - like someone is murdering a flock (?) of pigs. The sound of a shoal (?) of pigs being killed last only until the throttle is given a hefty dab on pulling away. The sound of the herd (?) of pigs being slaughtered then ceases. The sound seems to get worse each time I start her. Suggestions on the problem, the solution and also the collective name for pigs please.

hi Alsner, great laugh now I'll never be able to listen to "Shiny happy people " again without think of volvo's/belt/v6/pigs as if I'am not bad enough already. cheers brendan
