Newbie alert - have a new MBox with ProTools/LE 6.7, in a Windows XP PC with a SoundBlaster card. I can hear guitar out of MBox but cannot hear any metronome/click from ProTools (I can see no "MBox" option for routing the metronome). I can hear the metronome out of the SoundBlaster, but no guitar. I created a click track in Finale, Saved As a MIDI file, imported that into ProTools. It created 16 MIDI tracks (I'm not sure why...); track 10 was the only one that showed any data (a solid black line). I deleted tracks 1-9 and 11-16, but could not hear anything from track 10 from either the MBox or the sound card. We cannot get the most fundamental scratch track recorded (which is very frustrating...) because I cannot find how to get the metronome sent to the MBox. I will be happy to be humbled if this is painfully easy, but we're just not getting off the ground here. I look forward to your suggestions.

Here's what I do. Hope this helps you out: 1.Create a mono aux channel in Pro Tools 2.Create a mono audio file 3.Assign the "click" plugin on your aux channel and send it as a mono send (ex. bus 1) 4.Assign the input of your audio track to the same bus (ex. bus 1) 5. Adjust the tempo of the song in grid mode, hit record and away you go! Hope this helps you out. Best recordin'

Do it in Pro Tools, less time spent there = more time for creativity

Thanks, vocalize, that helped a lot. Appreciate it! It's not the most intuitive way...
