S60 internal sensor alarm problem

Hi i have owned an S60 D5 (53 plate) for nine months and love it. Recently the alram has started to trigger for no apparent reason. I can prevent the problem by disabling the internal movement sensor using the dashboard button. Volvo Service say there is no fault code reported and can't identify the cause. Suggestions like "Do you keep any metal (e.g. keys or change) in the centre console?" (Only where Volvo has kindly provided a change holder!!!) don't help very much. In any case, I am not storing anything different in the console that hasn't been stored over the last nine months. Has anyone else had a similar alarm problem? Thanks Rob

I have had no problem with mine, but keep in the centre console keys, coins and my mobile phone with no alarm problems.

Have you got a wasp or similar going through the last throws in your car ? We've had a few in the house in the last few days.

55 Plat S60R (2006 Model) 

Hi Guys, Had a strange alarm tigger similar to this. Stops when Sensor disable button used. Have been reading around and would like to check sensors fro loosenes and dirt etc. Could someone advise where i can find it. Its not at the top of the B Pillars any more. Centre of the roof has a blanking panel - no obvious slots for sensors? Clues most welcome. Many thanks Richard

This happens to mine if I leave my iPad or wifi phone in the car. Have to use the button to disable the internal roof sensor, or switch the devices to plane mode..

s60 alarm 

Hi guys. I've just bought my 53plate S60 and love it but I am having a similar problem. The alarm goes off for no apparent reason. I thought I had cured it by turning off the motion sensors using the button on the centre console. It was ok for just over a week but has since started again. Would love to get this sorted as this is the nicest car i have had for a couple of years now

Could almost set your watch by 7+ yr old siren batteries giving up the ghost as the Autumn draws in and temperatures drop. Most likely this is the cause although it could be other switches particularly the bonnet. Pull F38 in the fusebox at the driver's end of the dash facing the door and see if that stops the alarm triggering. Car will lock as normal , led will flash but when alarm triggers - no siren just flashing lights.
